Inaccurate and TERRIBLE Battery-life

"I use my GPS Sportwatch for every run. I always use the shoe pod with the GPS on my outdoor runs so that it is synched, and just in case I lose GPS signal. On the rare occassion that I must run indoors on a treadmill I use the shoe pod only, and it NEVER matches the pace the treadmill is set to. I know that it is calibrated, because none of my runs are ever less than two miles, so it is constantly being calibrated with the GPS when I'm outdoors. Additionally, I have only had the shoe pod for 1.5 months and it is now glitching as if the battery is running low. For $19 a pop, this product should either have the ability to change the battery (a CHEAP battery) or to be charged, without haveing to buy the sports kit that is $80."

OK product, terrible battery life

"Right off, I would give this product a 5 star rating if it had lasted longer than a year. I only use it about once a week, using the auto sync at the gym on the treadmills and the Nike App on the road. So its not like I used it a whole lot. I bought it almost exactly a year ago and now its dead. Yes its cheap, and I suppose there you have it. I won't be replacing it because I hate waste and that's what it is now.
It is very easy to use, synced fast for me and was fairly accurate, although I did calibrate it several times first.

"I really like my Nike+ GPS watch, and use this as a back-up to the satellite data. I'm disappointed by the battery life, and would really benefit from a swap-out program to recycle old dead pods, or a charger that would restore battery life after so many runs."

"Takes forever to connect so if you like walking a lot before a run then get this and you will. Won't connect most of the time and you never know when the sensor is on because there is nothing saying it is. So you walk and walk and if your lucky it connects and if not take your shoe off again and push the button and start over and over. I'll stick to using my phone app although that screws me in the gym but oh well this one is going back."

"The sensor should have a shelf life stamp on the shell and on the packaging. Customers will be aware if they are purchasing a recent manufactured product or one that has been sitting on the shelf for over two years. And after two years it does not matter what temperature the environment it is stored in, the battery's internal chemical reaction will cause it to loss it's battery life."

"Quote: If it’s not broke don’t fix it!
I hope that Nike realizes that some of their customers don’t need new stuff (toys). My sports band has lasted me two years and it still works and does what I need it to do. I hope and pray that Nike does not do away with the sport band and oval sensor. I plan to get another two more years out of it. Actually I hope that it last longer than 6yrs.

"Suprised to read the reviews. I have had my same sensor for over two years. I had a few probelms with the sportsband but they were easily rectified after talking with customer service and it was as sinple as resetting while plugged in online.
I have already decided that when this one goes I would get another if still available. Not everyone wants / needs the higher priced GPS style watches. This watch tells me all I want to know. It is great alternative to the highwer priced models.

"This button is just a sleep button. Push it again to wake and link you'll find it doesn't wake. It is suggested to be used to turn off your sensor while traveling by air but once you try to restart the sensor it will not wake or link. A simple on/off indicator would be nice so I know the sensor is in the mode I want it to be. Going to have to purchase new sensor when it shouldn't be necessary."

"I put my sensor in sleep mode for air travel and now cannot wake it and link to my band. I have pushed the button several times now and do not know if it's sleep or wake. What happen to the days when the toggle showed on/ off. Now have to purchase new one and toss a good sensor with battery life."

"This product is absolutely wonderful. Ive used it for about 3 years and it is a wonderful tool to have when running. I run a lot while I condition for various sports I play, and my only complaint is that while I'm running repeats on the track the sensor says four laps is about .05 miles short of a mile. When It is actually a mile. Recalibration is simple but it never seems to solve my problem. I would highly recommend this product to any interested party. Also, I run on the beach a lot and my shoes will get soaked while the sensor is in them, and so far so good! Thanks Nike!"

"I bought the Nike plus band which includes the sensor... it worked once and that was it! No link between the band and the sensor after that. I was so excited because I was going to use it to train for my first marathon. I don't know why they didn't tested this device properly, this is not cheap."

"I credit this awesome device for kick-starting my fitness regime. It has motivated me to achieve numerous running goals, and it always leaves me hungry for more. I don't understand any of the negative reviews, as my Nike fitband and sensor have performed flawlessly. I absolutely love this gadget and have expanded my collection of fitness tools with a Nike FuelBand and additional sensors for extra pairs of running shoes. I love the website and look forward to uploading my daily activities. No other company come near this cutting-edge technology in the fitness industry and for such a reasonable price.
Thank you, Nike Team for appealing to the athlete AND techie in me!"

"I have only had mine for a week and i find it very annoying that the Nike + web site is always down. When i go to download my workout i am bothered by the number of times it has told me to check back in a few hours becaue they are making the site better. How about making a working site. If i knew it would be so bad i would not have bought the product. What's the point of having it if you can't use it for what it is ment for."
